Update (Dec 2023) This is by far the best purchase I’ve made on Amazon…period! I made the purchase in 2020, it’s now 2023 and the product is still holding up and the seller is still as responsive regarding minor (plastic) replacement parts! Thanks, (aka Donna) Update (Oct. 2020): Without going into a lot of detail, after 10 months, this vendor continues to impress me with the quality of the product and their exceptional customer service!!!(Jan. 2020): OMG! I can’t believe how classy, functional, and versatile these are!!! I must admit that I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the negative reviews but because it was Amazon and how they take care of customers, I took a chance. So glad I took the leap! I have tons of shoes that I’ve bought and saved over the years and the best I could do were open racks in my closet. Unfortunately, I’d have to painstakingly dust the shoes off on occasion, even with a plastic drape over them. This unit makes that issue a thing of the past and I have 3 times the storage space! I even left the bottom row open so I could easily grab my exercise shoes and slippers. On top of me loving this product, Kousi’s customer service is the best if you need assistance.*I found that the best way to assemble the unit to ensure stability and symmetry, is to start your first row on a hard floor if the plan is to put it in a carpeted area. Also, if you plan to put shelves in any of the compartments, snap on the shelf support thingys before starting your assembly because they are difficult to put on in the back after the fact. After the 1st row, move the unit to it’s final destination before building the second row. Use the included wooden mallet to secure the connectors that are tight or as you start to go higher. I found that for the first couple of rows, pushing down firmly by hand until you hear the click of the connection is the best way and will set your expectation of how far they need to go in for all the rest. I also found that after you build the first row, wait until you build the second row before you put on the front connectors. I started my new rows by snapping all the backs in first, then sides, then tops, then connectors for the bottom row, then repeat. I also purchased some zip ties for those problematic corners (nothings perfect) but only had to use 3. Hope this helps!
